A client once called to tell me her father had passed away just days after our portrait session. She thanked me for the photographs and told me how much it meant to know her family would always have those images of him.

That conversation changed the way I approach photography.

I realized that I never really know how important a photograph may someday become to the person receiving it. That's why I spend more time than I probably should on every image I create. To me, they're never just photographs.

They're memories. And sometimes, they become priceless.
